Tasha Steelz remains in the title picture as she is set to get a second shot at the Knockouts Championship. Steelz will be facing the champion, Mickie James, this weekend at its Sacrifice event on March 5. The two battled at the last IMPACT Plus event No Surrender in February where James retained the gold.
Steelz earned her championship opportunity at Sacrifice by defeating Chelsea Green on this week’s IMPACT! After several near falls and moments where Green could have pulled out the win to become the number one contender, it would be Savannah Evans that would be the decision-maker. As Green fell to the outside behind the official’s back, Evans leveled Green with a kick to the face.
Mickie James was on commentary for the match and she had promised Green that she wouldn’t get involved in the match. Green said she wanted to go at the match alone and get the win all by herself. James honored that and did not help after Evans got involved. Evans rolled Green back in the ring for Steelz to deliver a frog splash to get the victory.
Elsewhere on this week’s IMPACT! Cassie Lee defeated Madison Rayne as they head into their Knockouts World Tag Team Championship match this weekend. After two fails at booking The IInspiration defending their titles against The Influence, third time may be a charm as the two teams collide at Sacrifice.
Cassie Lee defeated Madison Rayne after Kaleb with a K once again was the cause of a distraction against his own teammates. Relegating Kaleb to stand on a marked spot on the ground at ringside to avoid him distracting Rayne, it happened anyway. As Tenille Dashwood and Jessie McKay tussled on the outside, McKay was thrown into Kaleb who caught her. Instead of instantly dropping her, he caught her fall before gently putting her down. This distracted Rayne which allowed Cassie to get the pin.
Masha Slamovich was also in action this week and is now 5-0 since becoming an official Knockout. She made short work of Raychell Rose.
