Tay Conti gets a huge opportunity next week as she is going for the NWA World Women’s Title. This will be on AEW’s New Year’s Smash Night 2 on Dynamite. The prestigious title that has been shuffled in as another women’s title on AEW programming thanks to Serena Deeb will be on the line. Deeb captured the title in October as she halted the reign of Thunder Rosa.
In a backstage promo, Conti says that she has a lot of respect for Deeb, however, she is coming for her championship. She reminds the champ that she is a blue belt in Jiu-Jitsu and a black belt in Judo but equally important she will have Anna Jay and the Dark Order behind her.
Conti has been looking really strong as of late and has an impressive winning streak. This will be her first-ever televised title shot.
While we are speaking about title matches within AEW, Abadon went after the AEW Women’s World Championship on this week’s show. Despite taking another bite out of Hikaru Shida’s neck, Abadon wasn’t able to capture her first piece of gold. Shida would put her away after a running knee to the face.
