Tay Conti is a star in the making. She is skilled, talented and carries bags of potential. Throughout her NXT days, she was always one to look out for. At AEW, she is evolving into a great performer, and Tony Khan knows it.
In a recent interview with Wrestling Observer Live, AEW President Tony Khan chatted about all things AEW and had some great things to say about Tay Conti.
During the interview, Khan gave examples of wrestlers who have shone recently, and he had particular praise for Conti.
“Tay Conti is a great example of somebody who I’ve always thought looked like a star. I went to a house show, an NXT house show, like 4 years ago in Jacksonville and I thought that Tay Conti looked like she’d be a great star then. She had such charisma and personality. She was working as a manager, and as a manager she had that much charisma and she’s developed so much in the past few years as a wrestler. I’m really excited about Tay Conti.”
Conti signed to AEW in September of last year and continued to impress ever since. She made her debut for the promotion as a surprise entrant in the Women’s Tag Team Tournament. Her team with Anna Jay progressed to the semi-finals. Since then, she has challenged for the NWA women’s title and was a participant in the Women’s World Championship Eliminator Tournament.
