The May 24 episode of AEW Dynamite featured Taya Valkyrie taking on the debuting Lady Frost.
The bout aired just minutes into the second hour and was fast-paced to start as Taya went for pinfall attempts early on. Frost then tried for some offense but kept getting cut off by explosive counters by Valkyrie.
After the break, Frost spun off the top rope only to get hit by a spear once she got to her feet. They broke down into trading forearm shots until Taya hit a sit-out powerbomb for a nearfall. In the end, Valkyrie connected with her signature Road to Valhalla slam to secure the win while Jade Cargill and company watched from the stage.
On Friday’s episode of Rampage, Britt Baker and Hikaru Shida will join forces again to take on Nyla Rose and Marina Shafir.
Then on Sunday, AEW will present their annual Double or Nothing pay-per-view as both women’s titles will be on the line:
- AEW Women’s World Championship: Jamie Hayter (c) vs. Toni Storm
- AEW TBS Championship: Jade Cargill (c) vs. Taya Valkyrie
