Taya Valkyrie is back in AAA Lucha Libre and on Saturday became the number one contender for Deonna Purrazzo‘s Reina de Reinas Championship. This was at the AAA Rey de Reyes event.
Valkyrie made her return as a surprise to the promotion by joining the Lucha Brothers in the ring before competing in a number one contenders bout. She battled in a fatal five-way where she defeated Flammer, Keyra, Lady Maravilla, and Lady Shani.
Valkyrie is a former three-time Reina de Reinas Champion and currently holds the top spot as the longest combined days as champion. She sends a message to the current champion saying she is coming for Purrazzo. Purrazzo has held the title since defeating Faby Apache at TripleMania in August. She currently sits at 188-days as champion.
Purrazzo defended the ROH Women’s World Championship against Miranda Alize during this weekend’s IMPACT No Surrender event. She last defended the Reina de Reinas Championship in a Winner Take All match against Rok-C in January during an episode of IMPACT! Purrazzo won becoming a double champion.
