Taylor Wilde Speaks on Her Retirement from Wrestling & Leaving TNA

Former TNA Knockout, Taylor Wilde has spoken to The Sun about her decision to quit wrestling.

Earlier today, we announced that Wilde will compete in her final match for Diva Dirt, ChickFight and Pro Wrestling Revolution on February 5th against Alissa Flash.

On her decision to leave wrestling and TNA, she said:

She told us: “I’m not just leaving TNA, I’m retiring from wrestling and going back to school.

“I have nothing but good things to say about TNA. If it wasn’t for my experiences there I wouldn’t be the person I am today.

“But the way things were going, I just felt I needed a change. With the state of the company and the way they were using me, there wasn’t a lot for me to keep me going either.

“I’ve done a lot of the things I wanted to do, and there aren’t many opportunities left for me.”

More:

Wilde also commented on the lifespan of a female wrestler on a television show:

“As a female wrestler you are marketed to be cute, sexy, have a banging body and be full of life. You’re not so cute when you are 30, 35, 40. And that’s not a shot at older women.

“But as far as television goes, and what your body can take, our biological clocks are ticking. For most of us women we are marketed on our appearance, and that has a much shorter shelf life than any man in this industry.”

Thoughts: At the end of the piece, Wilde does state that she wouldn’t be opposed to a comeback but I guess this marks the end of wrestling being her career. In future, she may wrestle once in a while for fun while having another, more steady career. It’s sad to see her go. Good luck to her and we can’t wait to be part of her final match on February 5th!
