On the Oct. 6 episode of AEW Dynamite, the company unveiled that there will be a second women’s championship added to the mix. The TBS Women’s Championship is coming as Dynamite is moving to the TBS Network in January 2022. It is modeled after the men’s TNT Championship.
To crown the new champion, a tournament will take place. It was confirmed on this week’s Rampage that the bracket will be announced on the Oct. 22 episode of Rampage. After the original announcement of the new gold, several names such as Ruby Soho, Thunder Rosa, Skye Blue, The Bunny, Nyla Rose, Red Velvet, and Jade Cargill just to name a few, have all made comments on wanting to become the inaugural champ.
On Rampage this week, Ruby Soho took on The Bunny. Soho would pick up the win, making her now 4-1 since joining AEW. Her only loss goes to Dr. Britt Baker when they clashed for the AEW World Women’s Championship at All Out. After the match, Penelope Ford would crash Soho’s celebration by attacking her from behind. Between Ford and Bunny, they took out Soho in the middle of the ring with brass knuckles.
On a special Buy In preshow prior to tonight’s Rampage, Tay Conti took on Santana Garrett and came out with a win after delivering a DDT.
Dynamite did not take place on its normal Wednesday night this week so it will be on Saturday, Oct. 17 and Kiera Hogan will be facing Penelope Ford.
