The heat between Jade Cargill and Red Velvet goes nuclear on AEW Dark

The heat between Red Velvet and Jade Cargill escalated to nuclear levels on AEW Dark when the two clashed on last night’s show. The brawl started when Cargill interrupted Velvet’s celebrations to get in her face before their match on tonight’s AEW Dynamite.

Velvet wasn’t having any of Cargill’s intimidation tactics and took her out with a diving spear. Cargill fired back with a barrage of punches as a wild brawl broke out on the entrance ramp. They were eventually separated but the trash talk kept flying. Their match looks to be a heated affair for sure.

The melee occurred after Big Swole and Red Velvet defeated the debuting Queen Aminata and Amber Nova is a solid tag team outing. Nova and Queen Aminata looked good in their first AEW performances and are definitely two talents that the promotion should use again.

Later on, in the show, KiLynn King beat Madi Wrenkowski in a match that deserved more time. The two had good chemistry had some really good exchanges until King hit Kingdom Falls for the win. Wrenkowski continues to impress and exudes natural charisma and heel tendencies. King is another talent that we have seen grow in AEW. She is a great all-rounder and one that has deserved to become “All Elite.”

Next up we saw another AEW debutant, Shawna Reed take on Britt Baker. It was a essentially a showcase for Baker and her journey back up the AEW Rankings. But Reed, who recently graduated from Dutin Rhodes’ wrestling academy, looked very good in defeat and is certainly one to keep and eye on.

The final match on Dark saw Nyla Rose crush poor Leila Grey with clubbing blows, a huge spear, and a Beast Bomb for the win.

On Monday’s AEW Dark: Elevation we had four women’s matches take place.

The first saw AEW Women’s World Champion Hikaru Shida and Tay Conti defeated Leila Grey and Katalina Perez. After the match, Conti who is the number one contender gestured to Shida that she wants a crack at the title.

Britt Baker defeated Skye Blue with the Curb Stomp in a good back and forth match. Blue shook Baker early on with a flurry of offense but Baker recovered and took her opponent out with forearms and a pump kick before getting the pin. After the match, she cut another fun promo on the AEW ranking system.

“Legit” Leyla Hirsch defeated Shanna in a physical match that saw Shanna turn heel. The two highly skilled wrestlers took to the mat in aggressive style. Hirsch got the better of Shanna, which frustrated
“Portugal’s Perfect Athlete” and she choked her opponent with her t-shirt. Hirsch got her own back on Shanna by forcing her tap out to an armbar for the win. After the match, they had a confrontation, which hopefully leads to another match just as good as this.

The final women’s match of the show was Thunder Rosa against Diamante in a fiery and stiff match. The two Latinas beat the hell out of each other with heated exchanges and wince-inducing stikes. Diamante looked really good in probably her best outing since she faced Shida last year. Thunder Rosa picked up the victory after a fierce battle with the Thunder Driver.

Well, that brings us to a close with all things AEW Dark & Dark: Elevation but we’ll be back with more AEW after tonight’s episode of Dynamite.
