The Hex (Allysin Kay & Marti Belle) are the new NWA World Women’s Tag Team Champions. They may be the new champs, but this is also the first team to win the titles since they were deactivated in 1984. Mickie James brought back the belts at NWA EmPowerrr.
At EmPowerrr, Allysin Kay & Marti Belle took out two teams in a four-team tournament to win gold. In the first of two semi-final matches, they defeated Hell on Heels (Renee Michelle and Sahara 7).
The other semi-final match witnessed The FreeBabes (Miranda Gordy & Jazzy Yang w/ Hollyhood Haley J) take on AEW’s KiLynn King & Red Velvet. The RedKing team of AEW moved on to the finals and faced Kay & Belle with the gold on the line.
After Red Velvet missed on a high-risk maneuver, Kay had Red positioned for Belle but King was able to stop it with a kick to the back of Belle. This led to a near fall by Velvet. The match found its conclusion after an assisted AK47 led to Belle getting the pin on Velvet.
Wrestling legend Madusa was on commentary for this match and presented the winners with the title belts afterward.
After the match, King and Red showed their good sportsmanlike conduct as they congratulated the champions.
