Shotzi Blackheart & Ember Moon came out of last week as the NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions and now the whole roster has their eyes on them.
First to step up to the champs are none other than The Robert Stone Brand. Aliyah and Jessi Kamea interrupted the champions who were backstage soaking in their recent win and challenged them to defend their titles. Blackheart & Moon being the fighting champions they intend to be accepted the challenge. The match will take place on next week’s NXT.
This will be both Aliyah and Kamea’s first televised title shots. Aliyah has been with WWE on their NXT brand since 2015 and Kamea joined in 2017.
Also announced for next week will be another tag team match as NXT Women’s Champion Io Shirai teams up with Zoey Stark to face Raquel Gonzalez and Dakota Kai. On tonight’s episode, Stark and Kai had a stellar match with Kai coming out as the victor. Shirai then entered the ring with a contract and requested that Gonzalez signs it to face her for the title.
As Gonzalez was backstage with the contract being interviewed about what just happened, Kai approached her tag team partner. She convinced her that they need to work as a team and pick up a much-needed win next week against Shirai & Stark.
