The Hell in a Cell pay-per-view has been a yearly event since 2009 where superstars are locked into a 20-foot-high roofed cell structure. Although the cell itself has only been a fixture for the male roster, there have been some quality women’s matches throughout the years. This will include only one prior Hell in a Cell match for the women.
At the time of this writing, there is only one women’s match scheduled for this year’s event. It will take place this Sunday on Oct. 6. It is expected for WWE to possibly add a match for the SmackDown Women’s Title or even perhaps the Women’s Tag Title. However, for the second time in history, women will battle it out inside the massive structure. Becky Lynch will be defending her RAW Women’s Championship against Sasha Banks.
Banks has been in a heated rivalry with Lynch since returning from her hiatus. If their battle at Clash of Champions is any indication of how this cell match is going to go, it won’t disappoint. Banks may have an advantage as she was in the first women’s Hell in a Cell match in 2016.
