Sasha Banks (c) vs. Charlotte – 2016 RAW Women’s Championship
A must-see list from Hell in a Cell wouldn’t be complete without the only cell match to involve the women thus far. On Sunday we will see if Sasha Banks vs. Becky Lynch will outshine this prior match, but for now, this is a must-see match in women’s wrestling history. In 2016, this was the year of the RAW Women’s Championship going back and forth between both Banks and Charlotte.
The match had it all and took place in the main event. This was a high-risk match that came before matches such as Money in the Bank, Elimination Chamber, and even the first TLC match from last year.
It started out on the outside of the cell at the ringside area. Before the cell would fully lower, Charlotte would attack Banks causing the action to spill outside. The two would battle it out on the side of the cell causing Charlotte to powerbomb Banks through the announce table.
The match saw both women using chairs and tables to their advantage. At the end of the match Banks would not be able to powerbomb Charlotte through a table based on her back injury. Charlotte would throw Banks twice onto a table that was set up in the corner. The table would not break, but Banks would roll down the table where a Natural Selection was waiting for her.
Charlotte would pick up the win and at the time become a three-time RAW Women’s Champion.
