Thunder Rosa Retains At Double or Nothing; Julia Hart Joins House of Black

Thunder Rosa is still the AEW Women’s World Champion after defeating Serena Deeb at Sunday’s Double or Nothing event. Rosa who won the title in March first successfully defeated Nyla Rosa to retain her gold and then turned her attention to the number one ranked woman and the Professor of Professional Wrestling.

In a match that is getting a good amount of praise from fans, Rosa won the bout after hitting the Fire Thunder Driver. Right before that, Deeb attempted to cause the champion to tap in a Texas Cloverleaf but Rosa made it to the ropes to break. The finisher came after a superplex laid out Deeb from the top rope.

Julia Hart has officially joined the House of Black.

After months after Hart has been slowly hinting at joining the faction, she helped the House of Black (Malakai Black, Buddy Matthews, and Brody King) defeat Death Triangle (PAC, Ray Fenix, and Penta). Months ago, Hart had black mist spit in her face and since then she has worn an eye patch. She has been seen withdrawn from the Varsity Blonds as she would sit on the steel steps with her back against the ring ignoring the matches.

During this men’s trio match, the lights went out during the end when PAC was perched up on the top turnbuckle. The lights would turn on and Hart would appear and spit black mist into his eyes. Black then hit Black Mass on PAC to get the win.

Also at this event, a mixed-trios match took place which saw the in-ring debut of Paige VanZant. VanZant teamed up with Scorpio Sky and Ethan Page to face Tay Conti, Sammy Guevara, and Frankie Kazarian. The match resulted in Kazarian turning his back on Conti and Guevara inadvertently kicking Conti in the face. Sky hit Guevara with a TKO to get the win for his team.
