The AEW Women’s World Championship will be on the line on May 29 as Thunder Rosa will be defending against Serena Deeb at Double or Nothing. Deeb is currently sitting at the top of the AEW Women’s Rankings after coming off of a long rivalry with Hikaru Shida.
On the May 4 episode of Dynamite, Rosa came out to the stage to call out the woman at the top of the rankings. Both women exchanged respect for one another but Deeb feels the best woman in wrestling should be the champion. Rosa has the gold that Deeb wants and the challenge was issued and accepted.
These two competitors have had a history of fighting over a championship in the past. Deeb dethroned Rosa for the NWA World Women’s Championship back in 2020.
Also at Double or Nothing will be the finals of the Women’s Owen Hart Cup.
