There was a victorious ThunderStorm on the July 6 edition of AEW Dynamite.
Despite their recent rivalry, the makeshift team of Thunder Rosa and Toni Storm, collectively known as ThunderStorm, made their way down the entrance ramp together in near-matching colors. Their opponents were also a newer team in Marina Shafir and Nyla Rose.
Shafir was initially the damsel in distress, but the tide soon turned in favor of the heels. Shafir and Rose tagged in and out to double-team Storm. Thunder eventually made her way back in and did battle with Shafir. Nyla and Marina tried their numbers game again, but ThunderStorm stayed on top of it and landed a team finisher that saw Rosa pin Shafir for the victory.
As usual, the featured women’s match on Dynamite was short, sweet, and to the point.
Immediately after, we cut to a backstage interview with TBS Champion Jade Cargill, Kiera Hogan, and Stokely Hathaway. Stoke introduced Leila Grey as an interim baddie because “three on two is better than two on two.” Hathaway told Jade to trust the process, but Cargill told Stoke that if Grey doesn’t deliver, then “that’s your ass.”
Elsewhere on the show, Tay Conti viciously assaulted Ruby Soho backstage by slamming a car door onto her arm. This came after Soho prevented Conti from interfering in the Blood & Guts match last week.
Next week’s AEW Dynamite will be Fyter Fest Night 1. While no women’s matches have been announced for the show yet, we do know that ROH Women’s World Champion Mercedes Martinez will team up with Serena Deeb once again on this Friday’s AEW Rampage. Their opponents are unknown as of this writing.
With ROH Death Before Dishonor coming up on July 23, it wouldn’t be surprising if a challenge is soon issued for Martinez and Deeb to clash for the prestigious title.
What did you think of the tag match on this week’s AEW Dynamite? Do you think Deeb will challenge Martinez soon? What’s next for Thunder Rosa?
