Throughout the match, Alexa targeted Mickie’s left arm – wrenching, striking and stomping over it. Mickie held her own and managed to fight Alexa off from the corner with a kick to the face, an elbow strike and head scissors from the corner.

When both Superstars met in the middle of the ring, they began trading blows until their strikes simultaneously laid each other out. As the women got back to their feet, Mickie began setting Alexa up for the Mickie-DDT but Alexa was able to escape it.
The Champion then tried to connect a Snap DDT but the challenger was able to reverse this into a pin cover for a near three count.

Alexa tried to capitalize with a Twisted Bliss but Mickie managed to roll out of harms way. Mickie then climbed the top rope for a second time to hit a dropkick for a two count.
