Toni Storm confirmed for ICW Square Go! 2019

This just in, ICW Wrestling announced through their Twitter page that Mae Young Classic 2018 winner Toni Storm will be appearing in action at their Square Go! event on Feb. 24, 2019.

This will mark Storm’s first ICW appearance in over three years. The New Zealand native was last seen in an ICW ring in Oct. 2015 during the company’s Road to Fear & Loathing Tour where she defeated Nikki Storm; now better known as Nikki Cross in WWE.

Since then, the former Progress Women’s Champion has vastly improved as an in-ring competitor and looks to show Glasgow the new moves in her repertoire in the SWG3 arena.

While Storm’s opponent for Square Go! next year has yet to be announced, it is possible that an ICW World Women’s Championship could be in Storm’s future. She has never won the title.

The only time she wrestled for the title was last March when Storm unsuccessfully defended her SWA Undisputed World Women’s Championship in a Title vs Title match against then-ICW World Women’s Champion Viper at Stardom: Dream Slam in Tokyo.

Then again, ICW could very well swerve us all and place the NXT UK Superstar in the Square Go! match.

A combination between WWE’s Royal Rumble and Money in the Bank, Square Go! is a 30-man battle royal where the winner receives a briefcase that promises them a title shot for the ICW World Heavyweight Championship at any time/place within the next year.

A woman has never wrestled for the ICW World Heavyweight Championship, but anything is possible in the world of wrestling.

Plus, women like Kay Lee Ray and Viper have wrestled in Square Go! Battle Royals before, so an intergender title match sounds like an idea that had to have dawned on the heads of ICW management.

Whatever Toni Storm does at Square Go! 2019, we’re positive that she’ll do so in spectacular fashion. When ICW opens its doors on Feb. 24, it’ll be Toni Time.

Tickets are on sale now for ICW’s 8th annual Square Go! event, and can be found here

All of ICW’s shows can be streamed online through Pivotshare On Demand for $6.99 a month. Subscribe here.
