It was announced on tonight’s SmackDown that Toni Storm will be making her debut on the brand next week, July 23. A video promo premiered last week teasing her debut and with it just saying “coming soon” we didn’t know at that time when she would show up. Now we do.
Storm is coming from NXT but originally she was on NXT UK and was the second woman to hold the NXT UK Women’s Championship. She is also a Mae Young Classic winner. Since going to NXT in 2020, Storm had tried to take the NXT Women’s Title from then-champion Io Shirai but was unable to capture the gold.
Storm will be the third call-up to the SmackDown brand within a few weeks. Shotzi and Tegan Nox debuted as a tag team last week and after tonight’s SmackDown the duo holds two wins over the Women’s Tag Team Champions Tamina & Natalya.
Tamina & Natalya are two of the eight women in the Money in the Bank Ladder Match that takes place this Sunday. Shotzi and Nox will most likely receive a shot at the tag team titles in the near future.
