Tootie Lynn makes her NWA Powerrr debut and receives high praise from Mickie James

Mickie James made history when she announced the first-ever all-women’s pay-per-view EmPowerrr.

She then followed up the historical announcement with another one, the NWA Women’s Invitational. During the press conference, Tootie Lynn was revealed as the first participant.

At Empowerrr, Lynn received a heroes reception and despite not winning the match she turned a lot of heads. She was so impressive that she lasted until the final two and almost won the match which ended up being Chelsea Green‘s night for the win.

James was on the Battleground podcast and praised Lynn for her star-making performance.

I did say I was going to try and make some stars that night. Obviously, everyone delivered and the Cup was amazing and I thought everyone shined, but little Tootie Lynn, what a star that one is.”

“I got little chill bumps. I said that from the start, I said I wanted St. Louis to be represented and I wanted to find talent that hasn’t been seen yet. That wasn’t even me looking for her. People kept messaging me and saying, ‘please take a look at her.’ When I saw her, I saw her in the mask. I saw this mask and called her via Zoom, saw her beautiful face and was like, ‘What…Tootie, your name is Tootie Lynn. It’s a chantable name.’ Then I see her face and was like, ‘This is a babyface if I’ve ever seen a babyface. I get masked characters, but your face is so expressive and so lovable. The people are going to fall in love with you. I get characters and all this stuff, but please just trust me on this. I need Tootie Lynn in St. Louis.’ It was a moment and the people erupted over her.” [h/t: Fightful]

Since the event, Tootie Lynn faced Kylie Rae in this week’s episode of NWA Powerrr. Rae picked up the win.

Still buzzing from EmPowerrr, we have the first NWA Women’s World Tag Team Champions for the first time in 37-years as The Hex (Marti Belle & Allysin Kay) became champions in the finals of a tournament. They defeated AEW’s Red Velvet and KiLynn King to win the gold.

Upcoming on Powerrr, Paola Blaze will face Marti Belle and Jennacide will face Allysin Kay. These singles matches have big implications because if Blaze or Jennacide win, they’ll get an NWA Women’s Tag Team Title match.
