Toni Storm vs Rhea Ripley – NXT UK TakeOver: Blackpool January 2019
Ripley and Storm had met previously in the final of the tournament to crown the inaugural NXT UK Women’s Champion. Ripley would be victorious and reign supreme over the division.
As the face of the division and first-ever, NXT UK Women’s Champion Ripley proved that she was one of the business’ hottest and quickest rising stars. While Storm remained one of the best and most popular performers in the promotion it was inevitable the two would cross paths again.
Ripley destroyed all challengers put in her way and demanded that NXT UK management give her some worthy competition. Toni Storm, fresh off her Mae Young Classic win rose to the occasion and challenged Ripley to a title match at NXT UK’s first-ever TakeOver
The match had a great story behind it, two passionate performers, dramatic action and the white-hot crowd lapped up everything they did in the ring. The match made for a very special occasion on a very special night.
