Sasha Banks v Ronda Rousey – Royal Rumble
After running through the majority of the Raw women’s roster, Rousey challenged Banks to a match at the Royal Rumble. Banks obliged and a period of mutual respect existed between the two.
However, the respect did not last when Ronda stated that her admiration for Banks as a trailblazer for women’s wrestling was something that brought her to WWE in the first place and beating Banks would be among her biggest accomplishments in WWE. This statement was meant to be complimentary but The Boss did not see it that way and respect made way for animosity and anger.
This tension escalated between the two, turning friendly competition to a highly intense and highly anticipated match.
A tremendous and incredibly hard-fought, back-and-forth match proved that Rousey was a credible and rightful champion and Banks is one of WWE’s top in-ring performers.
Sasha Banks took Rousey to her limit and to her best match in WWE.
