Sonya Deville
Deville was, according to a scene in Total Divas, due to face Asuka for the SmackDown Women’s Championship at WrestleMania 35. However, the match was nixed in the run-up to the event in favour of Charlotte winning the title from Asuka to make the main event for both belts.
If there is one positive to come out of that disappointment, it is that WWE did have the confidence in her to challenge for the championship at WrestleMania. Here’s to hoping they still do.
Deville is one of WWE’s untapped talents and has only just been given the opportunity to show what she can do.
Her newfound maniacal “bitch” persona is just brilliant and she is playing it to perfection.
So what better way to award and solidify this new dominant and well put together character than a title win and run.
