Sonya Deville – The Fantasy Choice
Sonya is my right of left-field choice. Deville was, according to a scene in Total Divas, due to face Asuka for the SmackDown Women’s Championship at last year’s WrestleMania. However, the match was nixed in the run-up to the event in favour of Charlotte winning the title from Asuka to make the main event for both belts.
I believe Deville is one of WWE’s untapped talents and hasn’t been given the opportunity to show what she can do. A win at the Royal Rumble would give her a massive shine and give a talent a prominent role outside of the Horsewomen.
If there is one positive to come out of last year’s disappointment, it is that WWE did have the confidence in her to challenge for the championship at WrestleMania. Here’s to hoping they still do.
