Torrie Wilson on her canceled Evolution match

Former WWE Superstar Torrie Wilson was recently on Chasing Glory with Lilian Garcia. During the interview, Wilson shared the match she was initially booked for in the first-ever all women’s pay-per-view, Evolution.

Wilson shared that the WWE contacted her a couple months before the event to inquire if she would be interested in participating in the show, after which she agreed to make an appearance. During the negotiation period, Wilson pitched the match that she wanted to be featured in. The match should have featured Wilson in a tag team match with former WWE Diva’s Champion Michelle McCool against Peyton Royce and Billie Kay of The IIconics.

“They (WWE) had called me months before and asked if I would want to (compete at Evolution) and I said I would love to, but I really want to be in a match. I had pitched a match against The IIconics. It was gonna happen and then they decided they didn’t want it to happen. I got all excited, I was ready to go train here in Orlando, and for whatever reasons creatively it didn’t happen,” said Wilson.

WWE, instead booked a 20-women Battle Royal for a future Women’s Championship match. The match featured Peyton Royce, Billie
Kay, and Michelle McCool, but Nia Jax would come up victorious after throwing Ember Moon over the top rope.

Wilson also competed in the first-ever women’s Royal Rumble match this past year, at the WWE Royal Rumble pay-per-view. With this year’s Royal Rumble just a weeks away, we will have to see who this year’s surprise entrants will be.

Make sure you tune in to Royal Rumble on Sunday, Jan. 27 on the WWE Network, live from Phoenix.
