The premiere of Total Divas season four is just days away, and its cast are busy making headlines in the lead up to the big night.
Nikki Bella and Naomi have been honored by Rolling Stone in its half-year WWE awards, which singles out the greatest moments and stars from the first half of 2015.
Nikki was named Most Improved Wrestler, while Naomi tied with Sheamus for Most Welcome Heel Turn. You can see the full honors on RollingStone.com.
Natalya, meanwhile, has making the interview rounds, speaking to The Vital Voice about two big social issues and how they relate to the WWE.
On the landmark decision by the United States Supreme Court to legalize gay marriage nationwide, Natalya spoke about her friendship with Darren Young, the WWE’s first openly gay wrestler:
“To me, whether you are straight, gay, lesbian, whatever, I see everybody the same…One of my best friends at WWE is Darren Young. Darren stood up loud and proud and said, ‘This is who I am.’ And like a lot of our fans, that’s who he is and he is proud of who he is. He’s not going to hide who he is anymore…He is one of my greatest friends at WWE and one of our greatest inspirations in this company because he did something that was really courageous. He stood up for what he believes in and he stood up for who he is inside and we all rallied behind him because it takes a lot of courage to do that.”
When speaking about Caitlyn Jenner and her historic Vanity Fair cover, Natalya proclaimed that the WWE is devoted to acceptance and allowing people to be their true selves:
“It just shows how much the world is changing. WWE has always been about coloring outside the lines and being bold, bright and beautiful, but also just being you. Be who you are and be proud of who you are. Don’t ever let anybody tell you that it’s not okay, and what we are all about at WWE is really diversity and standing up for who you are.”
