The NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez walked into the New Year’s Evil episode of NXT ready to find out who her opponent would be at Vengeance Day. What she didn’t expect is to have two challengers and be booked for a Triple Threat at Vengeance Day on Feb. 4.
In a 20-woman Battle Royal, Toxic Attraction (both Jacy Jayne & Gigi Dolin) won the match in a tie. Both women’s feet touched the floor at the same time.
The match started off with a mere second elimination of Cora Jade. One who many thought had a good shot at winning this match or going to the end, Jade would first be eliminated by Lyra Valkyria. Jade would appear two times later in the match to try and eliminate Valkyria.
After Jade, a couple of quick eliminations took place. Kiana James eliminated Tatum Paxley while Lash Legend tossed Amari Miller over the top ropes. James was helping Fallon Henley during the match much to Henley’s surprise. Toxic Attraction tried to get rid of Sol Ruca, but her impressive hand walk avoided both feet from touching the floor and she made it back in the ring.
Valentina Feroz would next be eliminated by Thea Hail. Indi Hartwell took care of Legend followed by the elimination of James by Valkyria. James and Legend argued on the outside as Zoey Stark tossed Dani Palmer on top of them eliminating her in the process.
As the field starts to thin out, a commercial break takes place which sees the eliminations of Ivy Nile, Henley, Hail, and Hartwell as the show returns. The next order of women who went over the top rope was Elektra Lopez, Wendy Choo, Nikkita Lyons, Stark, and Ruca.
We get down to our final four – Alba Fyre, Dolin, Jayne, and Valkyria.
Fyre and Valkyria were eliminated back to back with Jade returning for the third time distracting Valkyria who was shoved of the apron by Toxic Attraction. This led us to just Dolin and Jayne. Both members of Toxic Attraction celebrated their victory but without the bell ringing, they knew that only one of them could win. Jayne was going to bow out and jump over the top rope making Dolin the winner. Dolin yelled at her not to do it before Jayne kicked her tag team partner in the midsection.
Both Jayne and Dolin throw some punches before they found themselves on the top turnbuckle. They both try to fight each other off until they fall down to the floor at the same time. The officials check the tape and concluded that it was a tie.
Roxanne Perez comes out to see both her opponents for Vengeance Day.
