Happy Halloween! We’re continuing our yearly tradition of dreaming up Halloween costumes for our favorite Divas and Knockouts. This year, we’ll be mixing Knockouts and Divas together in three posts leading up to the big day. But before you see this year’s picks, be sure to catch up on the past 3 years of this feature:
2009: Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3
2010: Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3

All caught up? Let’s get started!
Christy Hemme
Costume: Amy Pond from Doctor Who.
Why?: Two of Christy Hemme‘s most defining features are her red hair and feisty personality. In those two aspects, she much like Amy Pond, companion to Doctor Who‘s eleventh Doctor. When competing in the Diva Search, Christy seemed to be game for pretty much anything, though there’s no guarantee that if the Tardis landed outside her door this instant, she’d hop inside. Still, she seems like one of the most adventurous women in wrestling, just going by personality, so maybe she would be up for some intergalactic time travel. However, she would need someone to sport a bow tie and be her Doctor–any takers?
Get the look: A red wig, short skirt, colorful stockings, combat boots and a leather jacket will have you looking like Amy. If you don’t have partner to dress as the Doctor, carrying around a sonic screwdriver will get the message across.
Gail Kim
Costume: Nikita from the CW’s Nikita.
Why?: One way to put Gail Kim‘s cat-like reflexes to work? Make her a secret agent! As the Nikita portrayed in the recent television series, Gail would be a very modern take on the secret-agent-goes-rogue concept. Of all the Divas and Knockouts, she is unquestionably the one most believable as a woman outrunning and outsmarting a secret government agency. Having seen her in the ring, it wouldn’t be far-fetched to think that she could hold her own in a fight.
Get the look: Dark, sleek clothing and a prop gun will have you looking like a secret agent. Be sure to mention Division so everyone knows about the vendetta you’re going to settle.
Jacqueline
Costume: Jessie from the Toy Story series.
Why?: She’s hardly a meek southern belle, but there’s no doubt that Jacqueline, with her recognizable accent, is from the south. She’s just more of the tough-as-nails variety. Another tough southern cookie? Jessie, from the Toy Story series. Sure, she’s technically a doll, but her persistence and courage make her a human as anyone, and her traditional cowgirl attire makes her very recognizable. Jacqueline could play to her roots and poke fun at them at the same time, cranking up her accent and bursting with energy. She’d get bonus points from us for moving with the floppy doll mannerisms.
Get the look: Grab a ready-made costume and, if you’re one for the details, buy a bright red wig and tie it into a braid.
Layla
Costume: Nicki Minaj.
Why?: It’s one of the most popular new costumes this year, going by the buzz online. Nicki Minaj only recently burst into the public consciousness and is already known for her outrageous style and preoccupation with the color pink. Layla has already dressed up as one pop star, so becoming Nicki seems like something that would be right up her alley. She’s got plenty of quirky attitude, as her time in Lay-Cool proved, and besides, we think she’d look dynamite in a bright pink wig.
Get the look: This guide gives you how-tos for three different variations of Nicki.
Maxine & Derrick Bateman
Costume: Kate Middleton & Prince William.
Why?: This past week, Maxine accepted Derrick Bateman’s marriage proposal, so it’s fitting that these two would have nothing on their minds but their upcoming nuptials and would choose to use Halloween to celebrate them. The most relevant wedding right now is easily the royal affair from earlier this year, when Prince William was wed to Kate Middleton, so with that image still fresh in our heads, Maxine and Derrick could deck themselves out in a gown and suit that match those of the royal couple. We’re sure that, in their minds, the wedding is as hotly anticipated as a royal one anyways, so looking the part is just icing on the cake.
Get the look: The groom can dress in the full traditional suit, while the bride finds a dress similar to Kate’s now-iconic gown. Over-done English accents are a plus.
Mickie James
Costume: Olive Oyl from the Popeye series.
Why?: Mickie can certainly pull off cutesy looks, and this one is certainly cutesy. Olive Oyl, the lady love of strong-armed sailor Popeye, is a gangly damsel in distress with a high voice and a tendency to get kidnapped. Mickie would be easily recognizable in a tight black bun, red sweater, black skirt and large brown shoes. Swooning at demonstrations of affection and reacting shrilly to things that surprise her, Mickie would be the cartoon brought to life. And if there’s anyone that could bring a toon to life, it’s bouncy, chirpy Mickie. Those dressed as Popeye or Bluto would be interacted with accordingly, be it swoon or shriek.
Get the look: This full costume includes the outfit and classic black wig.
Rosa Mendes
Costume: The red bird from the Angry Bird games.
Why?: Poor Rosa Mendes can’t seem to catch a break, be it by losing matches or having her photoshoot interrupted. Rosa has every right to be angry, perhaps angry enough to personify an Angry Bird (the red one, of course, as red is her color). The game became a smash hit this year, and will undoubtedly be a popular Halloween costume for the quirky set. Rosa would be hitting a trend and expressing her inner anguish at the same time, maybe even through launching herself at her enemies in the hopes of making them explode? Okay, maybe not. But still, she’s probably got enough frustration bottled up to make anyone go boom.
Get the look: Pop on a red bird costume and get angry.
Stay tuned for part 3 leading up to Halloween.
