WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus and AEW Women’s World Champion Britt Baker took to social media to pay tribute to one another.
This week was the 17th anniversary of the groundbreaking WWE RAW main event.
In 2004, the two wrestling legends clashed on for the WWE Women’s Championship in a historical main event.
It was the first time two women headlined a WWE show and there was no one better to do so.
Lita and Stratus had a heated and career-long rivalry, which saw them clash multiple times but non as important than 17 years ago.
Baker tweeted and tagged both Stratus and Lita thanking them for the trailblazing match. In response to Baker’s tweet, Trish Stratus thanked Baker for blazing a path of her own.
Baker has blazed her own trial in AEW headlining multiple shows. Baker took part in AEW’s first-ever women’s main event match. Earlier this year Baker and Thunder Rosa headlined Dynamite. The two warriors tore it up and each other apart in the revolutionary Lights Out Anything Goes Match.
Baker is set to defend her title against Riho soon as the inaugural champion, beat Jamie Hayter on Dynamite.
Trish Stratus is scheduled to return to WWE for hosting duties when the company comeback to Toronto for WWE Live.
