As previously reported, Trish Stratus received the Lou Thesz Award at the National Wrestling Hall of Fame over the weekend. She became the first woman to receive this honor since it was first presented in 2007.
While accepting her award, Stratus gave praise to many current and former female stars in the wrestling industry. In the clip below you can see her first praise Liv Morgan stressing the fact that she is the new SmackDown Women’s Champion.
She adds to the praise the names of Bayley, Bianca Belair, Becky Lynch, Charlotte Flair, and AEW’s Britt Baker saying that they exemplify what is right in this industry. It is with their steadfast determination while transcending stereotypes and doubts that they inspire the next generation much like the Golden Era of herself, Lita, Molly Holly, Victoria, Jazz did for them.
She comments that women’s wrestlers continue to get underrespresented and underpaid but joked that that would be a discussion for another day.
Ring the Belle’s DS Shin was at the ceremony and was able to interview Stratus. The full interview is coming soon but he did post a short snippet where he talks with Stratus about Stephanie McMahon becoming the new Chairwoman of WWE. You can watch that clip below and Diva Dirt will provide the full interview once it has been uploaded.
Congratulations to Trish Stratus once again for receiving this prestigious award.
