Heading into her match on Sunday against Charlotte Flair, Trish Stratus spoke with Dave LaGreca and Bully Ray on Busted Open Radio. She did mention several times during the podcast about a good final match and how she felt this match against Flair at SummerSlam will be just that.
Stratus had the following to say:
“I always sort of said, you know, retired, that’s a loose term in wrestling but I always said if there was something that was A. challenging, B. gonna do something for someone else, I would consider it. And of course, I love wrestling, it’s something that’s always gonna be part of me and part of my life. I watch it, I follow it, even if I don’t do it every day. So when opportunities like this came up, it was like ‘gosh, this has to happen,’ like Charlotte and I in the ring, you couldn’t together a better. I sort of feel like this is a good final match for me because I don’t really think that you could do anything more than this.”
She also confirmed her sentiments on her Twitter.
With Stratus saying she will hang up her ring boots for good, does this change the outcome to her match on Sunday in her hometown? Do you think she will pull off a win or will Flair win as a “passing of the torch” type of result?
