Independent promotions crown inaugural women’s champions

This past weekend several Independent promotions crowned inaugural women’s champions in their respective companies, boosting their rosters while riding the wave of the growing women’s wrestling movement.

IGNITE Wrestling held its “Cinco De Mayhem” event on May 5, 2018. A triple threat match determined the first ever Women’s Champion. The match featured two fan favorites in IGNITE’s burgeoning women’s division as Kaci Lennox and Sofia Castillo took on the debuting Aspyn Rose.

Aspyn Rose emerged victorious by taking advantage of a split second stunning move to take the title in this hard-fought match against her more seasoned counterparts.

Aspyn Rose debuted in 2015 having previously been trained by Jay Lethal. She has appeared on SHINE, throughout the Carolinas and Georgia, and is branching out more as a single wrestler after formerly managing “Deathproof” Aaron Epic.

On Friday May 4, 2018 at PCWUltra’s “May the Fourth be with You” event, Chelsea Green took on newly debuted Impact Knockout Tessa Blanchard. The winner would be crowned the first ever World Women’s Champion.

Tessa defeated Chelsea after a hard hitting contest, becoming the inaugural champion and adding another accolade to her career.

Indi Hartwell also captured her first title when she became the inaugural Newcastle Pro Wrestling Women’s Champion, defeating Harley Wonderland in the finals of the Queen of The Castle Tournament in Charlestown, New South Wales, Australia.

Indi qualified for the tournament by defeating Jessica Troy back in January. On Saturday, May 5th, Indi defeated Shazza McKenzie to earn her way to the finals of the tournament which saw her best Harley to win the belt.

Priemier Pro Wrestling also crowned its first Women’s Champion on Saturday, May 5. Vixsin defeated Kellyanne in a hardcore match to become the inaugural women’s champion.

Congratulations to Aspyn, Tessa, Indi and Vixsin on these achievements!
