Two Matches Confirmed For Oct. 21 SmackDown

Liv Morgan becomes unhinged on this week’s SmackDown with a brutal beating to Sonya Deville.

After losing the SmackDown Women’s Championship at Extreme Rules to Ronda Rousey, Morgan seemingly takes out every ounce of frustration on Deville. In a backstage interview, Deville immediately went after Morgan verbally stating that she did not seize the opportunity to remain champion at Extreme Rules. She also added that Morgan doesn’t have “it.” Once Morgan had heard enough, she would attack Deville.

Morgan made sure to keep Deville down by driving her into a road case before dropping her on top. The former champ would clear off a nearby table before she climbed up part of the set to deliver a senton on top of Deville as she came crashing down through the table. Extreme Rules may be in the rearview mirror but Morgan’s new attitude is sticking around.

This has set up a match between Morgan and Deville for the Oct. 21 episode of SmackDown. Deville will be busy next week as she also takes on Alba Fyre on Tuesday for NXT.

The second match confirmed for next week will be for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships. Damage CTRL will put their gold on the line against the team of Raquel Rodriguez and Shotzi. More on what took place between these two teams can be read here including Roxanne Perez choosing Rodriguez as Cora Jade’s opponent for the Oct. 18 episode of NXT.

Other moments for the women on this week’s SmackDown also included Zelina Vega taking out B-Fab during Legado del Fantasma’s debut match and victory against Hit Row.

Another vignette was also shown for the return of Sarah Logan. Despite her face still being hidden, it is all but confirmed that she will be making her return soon alongside the Viking Raiders.

On this week’s NXT: Level Up, Ivy Nile defeated Lash Legend by submission.
