Two more teams advance in the Dusty Classic, Second semi-final match set

Two more teams have advanced in the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic on this week’s NXT 2.0.

The first semi-final match was determined last week when Io Shirai & Kay Lee Ray and Kacy Catanzaro & Kayden Carter advanced from their first-round bouts. Now we will have Raquel Gonzalez & Cora Jade vs. Wendy Choo & Dakota Kai. These last two teams advanced with the NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions Toxic Attraction watching on from their Toxic Lounge.

The first quarter-final round of the night witnessed the unique pairing of Kai and Choo defeating Indi Hartwell & Persia Pirotta. Heading into this match, one would think that Hartwell and Pirotta had a clear road to victory due to their tenure as a tag team. Using great tag team work, Choo landed a splash on Pirotta followed by Kai launching off the turnbuckle with a double stomp to get the pin.

Next, Gonzalez & Jade advanced after defeating the team of Valentina Feroz & Yulisa Leon. Feroz & Leon put on one impressive outing but weren’t able to come out with a win to advance. After a one-armed powerbomb to Feroz, Gonzalez would slam Jade on top of her to get the pin.

There was a third match on this week’s show that had Lash Legend defeat Amari Miller. The two were partners last week in the Dusty Classic, but a loss in the first round caused a rift between the two, and Legend blamed Miller. After the match, Legend would call out Nikkita Lyons who answered her later in the night. Lyons wants Legend to bring back her “Lashing Out” talk show so that Legend can say what she has to say to her face.

Tiffany Stratton has targeted Sarray. In a backstage segment, Sarray was showing off her necklace to some of the NXT recruits when Stratton approached her. Stratton wasn’t impressed with the necklace and called it tacky. She offered her one of her own necklaces but Sarray politely declined. Stratton didn’t care for that reaction and threw Sarray against the garage door.

Ivy Nile was mid-workout when Tatum Paxley approached her about their loss last week. The newly formed team wasn’t able to make it past the first round of the Dusty Classic and Nile isn’t pleased with their loss. Paxley takes responsibility but Nile says she will have to learn the hard way of what it takes to be a part of Diamond Mine.
