The popular Japanese all-women’s wrestling promotion Stardom will be hosting an action-packed event on Christmas Eve. What better way to spend the holiday with some great women’s wrestling?
Stardom has planned to give us all a wonderful present this year and has scheduled some of their top talent to be in action. Some of the joshi wrestlers you can expect to see there include Momo Watanabe, Mary Apache and Hazuki.
Now if you are new to Stardom wrestling, some of these matches and storylines may seem a bit confusing and perhaps a bit “odd” to you. Try to bear with me while I summarize some matches on this card.
Expect to see some fast paced action as Mary Apache takes on Hazuki for the High Speed Championship. If Hazuki can capture this title, it will be her first singles title ever. Hazuki has stated that Mary has made the High Speed title the “Low Speed” title with her slowish wrestling style.
Saki Kashima was geared up to tag with Mayu Iwatani to take on Queen’s Quest members Momo and Utami for the Goddesses of Stardom tag titles. Unfortunately, due to sustaining a knee injury in Yokohama, she will be unable to compete.
It would seem that QQ would be at an advantage here against Saki in this tag team match. However, it has been announced that another STARS member will be filling in for Mayu. Who do you think the mystery partner will be?
You can also see what is to be an epic “Hair & Mask Final Chance” match between Natsu Sumire and AZM. The story here starts with Sumire stealing Queen Quest’s flag and now AZM’s mask. Now AZM has one final chance to win her mask back.
Team STARS will also be taking on Team Jungle Assault Nation as Tam Nakano, Arisa Hoshiki and Starlight Kid look to take out Matsuko Tora, Kaori Yomeyama, and Auaka. An action-packed fatal four-way match is also booked between Hana Kimura, Konami, Kagetsu and Jungle Kyona.
After the match ups, Stardom will also be hosting live coverage of their Year End Awards Party. Some of the awards that will be distributed include MVP, Match of the Year and more.
If you have never seen Stardom before then you should know that some top talent in NXT and WWE have competed in the promotion prior to their arrival. Names like Io Shirai and Kairi Sane are top former joshi wrestlers from Stardom. Other rising female talent such as Mia Yim and Mae Young Classic 2018 winner Toni Storm have also wrestled in the promotion. By tuning into this event on Christmas Eve you very well could be watching some future top stars.
You can watch the Christmas Eve special event at stardom-world.com on Dec. 24 at 11 a.m. JST. The event will take place at KoraKuen Hall. Be sure not to miss this awesome Christmas wrestling event.
