Welcome to this week’s edition of Unwrapped! As always, we will be grading all of the new photoshoots (or “eye candy”, as we like to call them) from the week gone by, judging them like so:
Sweet (Great) • Bland (Iffy) • Sour (Awful)
You, the reader, will also get the chance to grade the “eye candy” yourself by giving your opinion on each shoot and voting for your favorite out of the whole bunch. Now, dive in!
Beth Phoenix‘s Saucy Secretary
Grade: Sour. Has Beth Phoenix traded in the life of a WWE Diva to be someone’s secretary? Sure looks like it. And if her super short skirt is anything to go by, she may be an Ali Larter in ‘Obsessed’ type secretary — though I’m sure she’d have no problem taking care of Beyonce. Honestly though, I don’t know why Beth so often opts to dress like she’s heading off for a day at the office and it’s not a flattering look on her. It ages her, makes her a little bit frumpy and isn’t the wardrobe of a Glamazon. The poses are the standard hands-on-hips shots that offer little diversity also.

Kelly Kelly‘s Just Dance
Grade: Sweet. Despite looking far too tanned for my liking, Kelly is dressed in cute, sexy, young club wear and looks like she’s ready to go dance the night away. Kelly fits her skinny jeans effortlessly and the the sequined top works on her too. Meanwhile, I really like Kelly with her hair up like this, it gives her more of a fashionable look than her usual hair-down look. The poses aren’t offering too much variety but I think Kelly manages to salvage it with her pearly whites. I particularly love the image we’ve used in the graphic — it looks a little more artsy than the standard Diva catalogue poses.

Maryse‘s Tan Line
Grade: Sweet. It’s a bold choice for someone who’s so tanned to be wearing a tanned colour dress. Where does the dress end and her skin begin? Okay, it’s not that bad. The toned down colour of the dress and boots isn’t what I’d expect from someone who is usually as loud and colourful as Maryse so it is a nice change of pace actually. Her poses are what really make this photoshoot work though with Maryse giving us a different look in each and every picture. I just mentioned the standard Diva catalogue poses and Maryse is definitely one of the girls who goes against the grain. She knows how to work the camera and has something to offer in each shot.

Michelle McCool‘s Body Warm
Grade: Bland. Michelle McCool’s trying to fashion a body warmer into a top here and well, someone throw the girl one of those Simply Flawless shirts to put on underneath. From the waist down, Michelle looks sexy in her sequined black leggings but the body warmer as a top just isn’t working. I think it’d look cute even i she just had a simple black vest top underneath with the body warmer unzipped. The poses aren’t exactly inspiring either with McCool tugging at her body warmer exposing her cleavage — doesn’t scream ‘classy’ to me which is what I usually consider the Women’s Champ. Michelle either looks bored or trying-too-hard-to-be-sexy in most of the shots and it just looks awkward.

Mickie James‘ Country Strong
Grade: Bland. No doubt that Mickie James’ recent attire change was inspired by her new country album — perhaps she’s trying to send subliminal messages to the audience: “Buy my record!” The new look definitely gives me the impression of being ‘country strong’ which just so happens to be a lyric in her debut single, ‘Are You With Me’. The jeans don’t exactly look practical for wrestling and I don’t see them having bejewelled detailing down on the farm. The poses aren’t too flattering either. Mickie’s either scrunching up her hair which by the way, isn’t sexy at all or she’s kind of staring blankly at the camera. Her seem a little deadpan and there’s no excitement here.
