Carmella was sidelined with an unconfirmed injury that took place at a house show earlier in the month. This injury took place in a Triple Threat match that also involved Asuka and Raw Women’s Champion Bianca Belair.
In a social media response two days ago, Carmella responded to a fan who asked when she was returning. She stated that she wasn’t sure yet and that she was still recovering. But she was hopeful that it would be soon.
Now, PWInsider is stating that Carmella is expected back on the road next month. They state her injury was likely a concussion. The last time Carmella was on Raw was when she faced Belair for the Raw Women’s Championship on July 18. She would then be in a tag team match on Main Event alongside Tamina as they suffered a loss to Asuka and Dana Brooke.
Carmella’s last storyline was against Belair where she filled in for a then-injured Rhea Ripley at Money in the Bank. She continued the storyline with Belair in a series of championship matches before Becky Lynch was brought back into the fold by taking on Belair at SummerSlam.
