Current reigning PWWA Interim Champion and IPWNZ Women’s Champion Evie suffered a mild patella tear at the last IPWNZ show on February 16th.
The injury came at the hands of Britenay and Megan-Kate, who brutally assaulted the champion’s knee with a baseball bat and left her unable to leave the ring without assistance.
Evie had been set to defend her Women’s Championship in a Fans Choice match, with the options being her two assailants and rookie Olivia Shaw. The fans had selected Shaw as the woman most deserving of a title shot.
However, don’t fret too much Evie fans, as the double champion has just confirmed that she’ll be good to go by the end of March:
Update! So, as most may know, I suffered a knee injury at the last show…a mild patella tendon tear. Just got scans back this morning, and will be starting physio this week to strengthen it back up. Should be good to go by end March :) Thanks to all of you for the kind words and support! x
She also confirmed in response to a fan that she’ll still be wrestling on all five SHIMMER events in April.
