The 2020 Royal Rumble event has now come to an end with a win for Charlotte Flair. There were many NXT Superstars including newly signed veteran Mercedes Martinez who wanted that ticket to WrestleMania. A nice return by Naomi was a highlight of the night along with a stellar performance by Bianca Belair from the number two spot.
Even some legends such as Beth Phoenix, Mighty Molly, and Kelly Kelly had their moments to shine. There was one person missing though (and no it wasn’t the possible return of Ronda Rousey). This person was Sasha Banks. So what happened?
It is being reported by Fightful Select that Banks was not cleared to compete. She hasn’t wrestled since Jan. 3 during a Triple Threat tag team match on Friday Night SmackDown. Since then, there were storyline excuses as to why she couldn’t compete against Lacey Evans.
Although Fightful Select can confirm that Banks is indeed injured, they have not been told the exact injury. They also do not have an update of when she will return at this time.
Banks kept her last injury rather quiet as well. That injury occurred at the Hell in a Cell event in October. It was believed to have been her tail bone at that time.
According to PWInsider, Banks was originally supposed to be in the match. It is being rumored that she was replaced by Kelly Kelly.
