Update to Asuka’s injury since returning to RAW

After a couple of weeks with the RAW Women’s Champion missing in action, Asuka returned this past Monday to face Shayna Baszler. She was out during that time due to an injury caused by an inadvertent kick to the face by Baszler. First reports noted she lost a tooth or several from that and also suffered a concussion.

Her return this week saw her get a win on Baszler and continued her attack after the bell. She caught her in the corner and continued to stomp at her face and went to drive her face into an exposed turnbuckle until the referee stopped it.

Asuka spoke recently with NowVoice to confirm that she is currently wearing temporary teeth. The injury sustained will take six months to fully heal.

She was originally planned to face Lacey Evans at the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view last month and the rumor was that Evans was going to take the title. With Evans announcing her real-life pregnancy, this changed the plans. Asuka is still the RAW Women’s Champion heading into WrestleMania next month but an opponent hasn’t been determined.

Several have stepped forward to challenge her but an official match hasn’t been made. Fastlane is also this Sunday and there is no match announced involving Asuka or the RAW Women’s Title.
