On Nov 15 a great shift took place in STARDOM. At Stardom Sendai Cinderella, Utami Hayashishita defeated Mayu Iwatani for the World of STARDOM Championship, ending her 377-day reign in the process.
The outcome of the match was a huge surprise as the winner of STARDOM 5 Star GP Tournament, Utami dominated Iwatani in an emphatic main event. The new champion was crowned when Utami pinned Mayu with a Spinning Crucifix Power Bomb on the twenty-four-minute mark.
The loss ended Iwatani’s legendary title reign. Iwatani was a wonderful champion and defended the title in some spectacular matches. She was the longest-reigning champion since Io Shirai held the belt for 546 days back in 2017.
After the match, Giulia, Syuri and Momo Watanabe came to the ring to stake their challenge to the title. Utami would choose her Queen’s Quest stablemate and will defend against Momo on Dec 20 at Osaka Edion Arena.
Also on the card, Giulia successfully defended the Wonder of STARDOM Title against Konami.
Syuri defeated Bea Priestley for the SWA Undisputed World Women’s Championship.
Momo Watanabe defeated Himeka and AZM retained the High Speed Championship against Gokigen Death.
Maika successfully defended the Future Of Stardom Title against Saya Iida.
Starlight Kid defeated Hanan, Hina, Riho and Saya Kamita in a Five Way match. And finally, the Cosmic Angels (Mina Shirakawa, Tam Nakano & Unagi Sayaka) defeated Oedo Tai (Natsuko Tora, Rina & Saki Kashima).
The results from Nov 15, come off the back of STARDOM’s 10th Goddesses Of Stardom Tag League. The tournament took place over a four week period and saw the Queen’s Quest duo of AZM and Momo Watanabe defeat Donna del Mondo’s Giulia and Maika.
