Utami retains title as Bea Priestley leaves STARDOM

STARDOM Yokohama Dream Cinderella took place on April 4th and featured Bea Priestley’s last match for the promotion. Priestley challenged Utami Hayashishita for the World of STARDOM Championship.

Utami and Priestley tore it up in one of three superb matches on the show. Priestley put on a career-defining performance against Utami who is proving to be one of the promotion’s best ever champions.

The last time the two met the roles were reversed with Priestley as the champion and Utami the challenger. The match started off slow with the two testing each other out before building up into a fierce and intense battle. Utami put the tenacious Priestley away after two nasty BT Bombs to retain the title.

After the match, an emotional Priestley thanked STARDOM and the fans before announcing that it was her last match for the company.

According to F4WOnline Priestley is not just leaving STARDOM but Japan altogether. Priestley first appeared for the company in 2019 where she won the promotion’s top prize as well as the tag and trios titles. Could she be WWE bound or is a return to AEW on the cards?

Anyway back to the fabulous STARDOM action.

The main event followed. Giulia and Syrui defeat against fellow Donna Del Mondo stablemates Himeka and Maika for the Goddesses of STARDOM Championships. The match was incredible as all four friends threw it all on the line for the tag team titles. The members of DDM never fail to impress and Himeka and Maika proved that they are the future of the company.

The win sees Giulia with gold back around her waist. She lost the Wonder of STARDOM and her hair against Tam Nakano last month. Her partner, Syuri is now a double champion as she is SWA Undisputed World Women’s Champion.

In the match of the night, Tam Nakano successfully defended the Wonder of STARDOM Championship against Natsupoi. The match featured two of the most exciting Joshi talents in thrilling action. Nakano and Natsupoi put on a masterful performance of storytelling, drama and nine carrot gold wrestling. A must-see match.

Also on the show, Hina defeated AZM and Lady C in a Three-Way Match. Momo Watanabe beat Mina Shirakawa. Saya Kamitani defeated Unagi Sayaka and Oedo Tai consisting of Konami, Natsuko Tora, Rina, Ruaka and Saki Kashima beat Gokigen Death, Hanan, Mayu Iwatani, Saya Iida and Starlight Kid in a Ten Woman Tag Team Elimination Match.
