NXT Women’s Champion Bayley recently spoke to Title Match Wrestling about her history-making main event match against Sasha Banks at TakeOver: RESPECT, possibly turning heel, the Diva Revolution and more:
On her popularity: She says it’s weird to be considered one of the most popular women wrestlers, since she still sees herself as a “normal kid.” While she’s very greatful of everyone who cheers her on, she’s still not used to it.
Her Iron Man match at TakeOver: Bayley says she gets emotional whenever she talks about it. Both she and Sasha thought their match at TakeOver: Brooklyn would be the last time they’d be in the ring together for a while. It means so much to be doing it together, since they’ve both had the same dream since they were 10 years old. No matter what happens in their careers afterwards, 15 years from now, people will look back at the match as being the first Divas Iron Man match, and she thinks that’s amazing.
The possibility of turning heel: She’s studied everything she could to make herself successful, so she’d be ready to take on any challenge put in front of her. Being a babyface is what’s natural to her, though, so she doesn’t see herself being a heel any time soon.
WrestleMania 32: Bayley hopes she’s on the card. She thinks the Diva Revolution is building to the point where she could have a NXT Women’s Title match on the card. She’d love to be part of WrestleMania weekend in any way she can.
The Diva Revolution: She says the Revolution is bringing the wrestling aspect back to the division. She says everyone in NXT and on the main roster are working to make it special and make people notice women’s wrestling again. It’s a team effort.
