WWE.com’s latest sit-down interview is with Divas Champion Paige. Michael Cole talks to her about her shocking debut, Extreme Rules, her ultimate goal and more.
On winning the Divas Title in her debut match, Paige admits that she was shocked she beat AJ Lee, but she knows she deserves the title, having trained for the opportunity for years.
Paige also admitted to letting the “floodgates” open after her win, crying her eyes out. She says she didn’t care, though, because it showed how much the Divas Title meant to her.
On being the youngest Divas Champion in history, she says she never expected to be at this point by 21, but doesn’t want anyone to underestimate her because of her youth.
Paige credits NXT for teaching her to be confident and how to stand up for herself.
When asked about the environment in the Divas locker room, she says she knows she has a target on her back, but promises that none of them will take the Divas Title from her.
On her Divas Title match against Tamina Snuka at Extreme Rules, Paige acknowledges the challenge she’s facing, calling Tamina one of the most dominant Divas to ever step foot in the WWE. Though she admits that she’s “a bit petrified” by her, she promises to walk out Divas Champion, even if Tamina beats her half to death.
Her biggest goal, she says, is to one day be in the WWE Hall of Fame, having earned that level of respect from fans.
