The artist formerly known as Mei Ying has awoken and her name is Wendy Choo.
Ready to hit the ring in her onesie, Choo teamed up with Indi Hartwell and Persia Pirotta as they faced the team of Kacy Catanzaro, Kayden Carter, and Amari Miller. With the Dusty Tag Team Classic around the corner, teams such as Hartwell/Pirotta and Catanzaro/Carter are eyeing up that prize and wanting to become the next tag team champions.
Hartwell and Pirotta were weary of how much Choo would contribute during their match. She spent time sleeping on the apron afterall. Choo proved she was an asset and even got a near fall on Miller while trying to catch some Zzz’s.
It would be Hartwell after some teamwork with Pirotta who eventually scored the win for her team after Pretty Savage and a pin on Miller. After the match in a Digital Exclusive, Hartwell and Pirotta voice their approval of Choo’s in-ring ability.
Kay Lee Ray seems to be the next woman to eye up Mandy Rose‘s NXT Women’s Championship.
Rose successfully defended the championship against both Cora Jade and Raquel Gonzalez last week. However, KLR has been waiting in the wings to be next up and as a former and longest reigning NXT UK Women’s Champion it comes as no surprise. Mandy was having her championship photo shoot and when it was finished for the day, KLR appeared with her trusty baseball bat.
Although Rose was already finished and gone for the day, it didn’t stop KLR from decimating the photo op set up with her bat. She finds it funny that Rose can show up for a photoshoot but not to defend the title.
Other notes from NXT include Elektra Lopez finally being done with Xyon Quinn. It all came down to Quinn vs. Santos Escobar and it was clear who Lopez’s allegiance was too. Escobar won and Lopez is staying with her family of Legado del Fantasma.
Dakota Kai appeared backstage in a segment with MSK. Last year’s winners of the men’s Dusty Tag Team Classic were admiring the trophy they were presented when Kai appeared. She recalls winning the trophy herself in the women’s classic with her then-best friend Raquel Gonzalez. She warns MSK telling them that nothing divides friendship more than success.
