Last year’s Owen Hart Cup winner, Willow Nightingale, has advanced to the semi-finals of this year’s tournament.
On the June 21 episode of AEW Rampage, Nightingale defeated Serena Deeb. This advances Nightingale to face her recent rival Kris Statlander who advanced over a win against Nyla Rose.
In an AEW Exclusive, Nightingale states –
“Almost exactly a year ago was the last time I wore this very set of gear. This beautiful, pink set. Why? Because last year, I won the 2023 Owen Hart Foundation Tournament. In 2024, I aim to do exactly the same thing. Tonight, I beat Serena Deeb. It was a battle, yes. I lost a contact. There goes my vision halfway through the match. I scratched my lip. But that is just a part of wrestling. Next match, I have Kris Statlander. Stat, you really broke my heart, and I’ve had to sit with that, and I’ve gotten over that. That’s not true, but I’ve moved on from heartbreak, and I’m at the next step. I’m angry and pissed off. So in the next round, you’ve got a really big beating waiting for you.“
