Underdogs
Liv Morgan
-Realistically Liv Morgan should be at the top of most people’s list. She was highly favored to win last year and maybe even more right at this moment. She is the ultimate underdog and even though she had a few chances at the beginning of the year she has not been able to win the big one. Currently, the match for the Raw Women’s Title at MITB is Bianca vs. Rhea. If Rhea were to pull off the upset and become champion, Morgans’s history with her will bode well for a cash-in opportunity. It is Liv’s time.
Dana Brooke
-If there ever has been an opportunist in WWE it is Dana Brooke. Forever the underdog, she is currently trying to break out of that mold in her fifth reign as 24/7 Champion and is fresh off of a victory against Becky Lynch. Dana needs to be elevated to that next level. Running the 24/7 Championship program into the best it can be, she certainly can carry the MITB briefcase with her for a period of time and make it fun.
Newcomers
Shotzi
-It is crazy to think of Shotzi still as a newcomer when she has been on the main roster for almost a year. However, with her lack of booking it is like she just got the call to come to SmackDown. Shotzi is arguably the one that most fans want to see more of. She definitely falls into that category where she needs something like this to give her TV time and start her climb upwards. With her recent motivational pep talks on screen, she could use a MITB win to excel at being a heel which seems to be the role they are casting her in.
Aliyah
-The other side of the coin when it comes to Shotzi is Aliyah. Aliyah is another one that fans have already shown praise for in the little bit of time she is on screen. She was even removed from Survivor Series when people were firmly behind her first win on SmackDown. She could certainly also fit the role in the category of underdog which WWE has such a hard time giving a payoff to. So give us a payoff.
Xia Li
-Despite the lack of booking that Shotzi and Aliyah have, there isn’t a woman more underutilized than Xia Li on the main roster. Xia should have exploded onto the scene once she was called up during the last draft in October, instead WWE spent weeks and weeks just showing vignettes as usual. She has only had two televised matches since her call-up eight months ago. If anyone can use the MITB briefcase to make a name for themselves it is Xia Li. If she were to win hopefully this would grant the exposure she should be getting.
Big Win Wanted
Sonya Deville
-Sonya needs a big win in her career. She hasn’t been seen since her second loss to Alexa on the May 16 episode of Raw. She is no longer an authority figure and is essentially starting over from square one. Her winning Money in the Bank could give her some “power” back and allow her to choose which champion she wants to cash in on. Sonya has also never competed in a MITB match so far over the course of her time on the main roster.
Shayna Baszler
-If anyone is thirsty for a shift back in time it is Shayna Baszler. Other than a monstrous Brock Lesnar booking from her Elimination Chamber win in 2020 the heel that struck fear in the NXT women’s roster eyes has been missing. Having Baszler amp up being a heel to the fullest potential and using the briefcase to taunt her friend Ronda Rousey would add the spice to the blue brand that it desperately needs right now.
