This week’s episode of IMPACT kicked off with a huge tag team match. The Knockouts Champion Deonna Purrazzo teamed up with her friend Kimber Lee as they took on the team of Kylie Rae and Susie.
Rae is in line to face Purrazzo next and her return from Wrestle House recently has stoked the fire. Although a match for Bound for Glory for the Knockouts Title hasn’t been officially announced, Rae can see the opportunity in sight.
The tag team match between the two teams was a good showing on both sides. Purrazzo and Lee have developed a nice team between the two that I am interested in seeing where it goes from here. With all this being said about Rae gunning for Purrazzo, it makes sense that they were not involved in the finish to further that anticipation.
The match winners were Rae and Susie, or should we say a glimpse of Su Yung. After Susie hits the Panic Switch and gets the pin on Lee, the Undead Bride seems to be resurfacing.
Last week Taya Valkyrie faced Tasha Steelz and didn’t have Rosemary in her corner like she was used to. Prior to Valkyrie’s match with Kiera Hogan this week, she confronted Rosemary about her whereabouts. She says she was busy but will be present for her match against Hogan later on in the evening.
Rosemary has a a confrontation between Havok backstage as she goes over her wedding planning. The two start to brawl and Navaeh breaks up the fight.
The second Knockouts match of the night was the one between Valkyrie and Hogan. Despite Rosemary saying she would be in Valkyrie’s corner for this match, she was not at her side when she made her way to the ring. Steelz however was in the corner for her tag team partner and helped her in the match.
Hogan picks up a big win after delivering a kick to the back of the head and followed up with a swinging maneuver that lands Valkyrie in the pinning predicament.
Let’s go over the Winners & Losers of the week:
WINNER: Susie
A big win for Susie and a hint of Su Yung emerging was a great touch at the end of the match. I have always loved the Susie character and it came at the right time as well. A time where I felt that the character of Yung was a little stifled, but I would be excited to see her go back and forth. I love the two characters and look forward to seeing how this all pans out.
WINNER: Kiera Hogan
Big win for Kiera! She may not be anywhere near the title picture (which is a shame) but she is still impressive every time she gets in that ring. Beating Taya is a big notch on her belt. Plus I love the dynamic between her and Tasha. If they do bring back the Knockout Tag Titles I hope they are the first champions.
LOSER: Taya Valkyrie
Taya is mainly on the loser list this week because of how she is coming off in her storyline. Without the support of Rosemary, she seems to be in trouble. Sure she lost her match, but that didn’t make her look bad. Rosemary not being at her side is what I am interested in and seeing where that all leads.
