Winners & Losers: IMPACT 09.22.20

This week’s IMPACT hosted two Knockout matches. The latter being the main event of the show and Tenille Dashwood’s return to the ring. First we had a match between Kimber Lee and Susie. Last week, these two were in tag team action with their tag team partners. In that match, Susie hit the Panic Switch and got the pin on Lee. After this, Su Yung‘s appearance started to emerge from Susie.

This led to the one-on-one this week. Susie had her tag team partner Kylie Rae in her corner and Lee had the Knockouts Champion Deonna Purrazzo in her corner. Purrazzo tried to help Lee where she could including stomping on Susie when she found herself on the outside.

At one point Lee had a vicious Boston Crab locked in on Susie, however, she was unable to get her to tap. A few moments later, Purrazzo inadvertently hits Lee which causes Susie to capitalize. This leads to the same results as last week. She hits the Power Switch to get the pin and the win. After the pin, we see Su Yung start to emerge again from Susie.

Purrazzo enters the ring and applies the Fujiwara Armbar on Susie before Kylie Rae breaks it up with a kick. Rae then dumps Purrazzo out of the ring and then challenges her for the Knockouts Title at Bound for Glory.

The main event of the night was Tenille Dashwood’s return to the ring. Since Dashwood’s return from her six month hiatus a few weeks ago, it has rubbed Jordynne Grace the wrong way. Grace doesn’t like that Dashwood has taken so much time off and since she has been back she hasn’t been back in the ring.

In what some may think was an upset, Dashwood pulled out a win thanks to Kaleb with a K, her photographer. As Grace went for her Grace Driver to put her opponent away, Kaleb distracts her as he pretends that he wanted to take a photo of Dashwood. Dashwood delivers the Spotlight Kick to get the pin and the win.

Katie Forbes was also highlighted as she got “5 minutes with Sami Callihan.” The deal was if RVD defeated Callihan then Forbes was able to get in the ring against him for five minutes. This ended up with Forbes being piledriven by Callihan.

Taya Valkyrie also confronted Rosemary on where she has been the past couple of weeks during her matches. They seem to be back on the same page after they talked.

Let’s get into the Winners & Losers of the week:

WINNER: Tenille Dashwood

Tenille picking up a win in the main event against a former Knockouts Champion is a good push for her. Especially in her return match. I can definitely see her going after whoever leaves Bound for Glory as champion.

WINNER: Kylie Rae

It was good to see Kylie finally stepping up and challenging Deonna. Deonna’s reaction was great as well. Looking forward to the match between the two. There are also several weeks to build up to it.

LOSER: Kimber Lee

Granted it makes sense storyline wise, Lee isn’t coming out of her matches looking very good. I enjoy her being a tag team with Deonna and I like their chemistry. However, if they keep having her lose then she definitely looks as just the shield for Deonna.
