Winners & Losers: RAW 06/03/19

Heading into RAW this week many people are skeptical. Since WrestleMania the women are receiving very little time on weekly programming. After the Money in the Bank pay-per-view, they started receiving even less. In fact, we are lucky to receive one women’s match/segment on RAW for the past two weeks.

The Super ShowDown event is coming up this Friday in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Since women are not allowed to compete at this event it is no surprise that they have been pushed aside as of late. Surprisingly this week’s RAW was marginally better. Marginally seems to be the correct word to use only because there were actually two women’s matches.

Unfortunately only the same women were used again this week. At least now storylines seem to be progressing.

Without further ado, let’s get right into the winners and losers of this weeks show.

WINNER: Alexa Bliss

Alexa Bliss continues to do an amazing job with her character. The woman has coffee delivered to her at ringside for crying out loud. UberEATS your heart out. Her Outback Steakhouse references to The IIconics were top notch also. Bloomin’ onion anyone?

Nikki Cross was able to pick up her win because of Bliss. She caused the distraction that was needed for Peyton Royce to take her eye off the match.

Billie Kay embarrassed the Goddess by knocking her down into her coffee that Royce caused her to spill. Bliss attacked Kay after the match with a DDT. Bliss hasn’t been in the title picture for a year due to her many injuries.

It appears that she is cleared at this moment due to her interaction with Kay. Could the Bliss and Cross relationship push them towards the Women’s Tag Team titles?

WINNER: Nikki Cross

Nikki Cross continues to shine every week. The calm demeanor she continues to embody in backstage segments with Alexa Bliss is refreshing. Although her “crazy” gimmick works perfectly for her it is nice to see the softer side of Cross as well.

Normally simply pairing people up with Bliss doesn’t do much for anyone but Bliss herself. With Cross for some reason, it feels different. She continues to pick up wins.

As previously mentioned, if this momentum leads to her and Bliss becoming tag team champions it wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world.

LOSER: Lacey Evans

Lacey Evans did do a nice job on the mic as usual. When it comes to Evans, her skills whether in the ring or on the mic isn’t the problem. She has good chemistry with both Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch. What makes her fall on the loser list this week is she constantly comes up short with Lynch. Sure she was the reason for Lynch losing her SmackDown Women’s Championship at Money in the Bank, but what has she done since?

If she intends to ever take the Raw Women’s Championship from Lynch then she needs to start picking up some wins. At the very list getting the best of the champ at some point.

Final Thoughts: Naomi and Tamina should have been on tonight’s show. With their reunion of sorts last week at the backstage barbecue, it would have been nice to see them team up against The IIconics this week.

Carmella‘s dynamic with R-Truth continues to be a masterpiece. It would be nice if other women could be showcased as she is. Hopefully, after Super ShowDown we will start seeing more from the women roster gracing our screens once again.
