One night removed from the Money in the Bank pay-per-view all eyes were looking to RAW for the fallout. Three important matches from the night before have directly or indirectly affected the landscape at the top of both RAW and SmackDown.
Becky Lynch emerged victorious in her RAW Women’s Championship match and still holds the red brand’s title firmly in her grasps. With that being said, Lynch is no longer known as “Becky2Belts.” After the SmackDown Women’s Championship changed hands twice in one night, Lynch is officially exclusive to RAW (minus that pesky Wild Card).
We also saw four women from RAW put their bodies on the line during the unpredictable and unforgiving ladder match. What will develop from their interactions from that match moving forward? Lastly, where are the Women’s Tag Team Champions? Let’s get into the winner’s and loser’s of this weeks RAW.
Let’s start off with the bad news first, the losers are as follows:
The IIconics
There are just no words to describe how bad The IIconics are being handled as the Women’s Tag Team Champions. They have consistently been on the losing end of their matches since they won the titles. That is of course when they are even on the show. Last week they were missing in action from both RAW and SmackDown. For titles where the champs can move across all brands, they sure aren’t appearing very much.
They do make an appearance on this weeks show as they interrupt Alexa Bliss‘s, A Moment of Bliss. Bliss was interviewing Becky Lynch when The IIconics made their presence known by making fun of “Becky1Belt.” A three-on-three tag team match is made from this interaction between The IIconics and Lacey Evans vs. Lynch, Bliss, and Nikki Cross.
As per usual, The IIconics lose the match making the champs even more obsolete. Instead of building the tag team division, we see zero tag teams on RAW for the duo to even interact with.
Dana Brooke, Naomi, and Natalya
Wait? You didn’t see them on the show tonight? That’s because they weren’t. Three out of the four women from the RAW brand that participated in the Money in the Bank ladder match were nowhere to be found. In fact, other than the segment and match between the women mentioned earlier, the fans continue to see women being pushed aside since WrestleMania. With Super Showdown right around the corner, this will probably continue for the next couple weeks.
Very little product developing with the women’s roster is leaving fans feeling underwhelmed. In this case, should WWE’s creative team be the biggest loser this week? This seems to be a recent pattern.
With that being said, here are the winners:
Nikki Cross
Nikki Cross was really the highlight of the night. Her interaction with Alexa Bliss has been great and continues to develop her character. She inserted herself in the match with a simple, “I will be your partner” to Lynch was all it took to get a good reaction from the crowd. It is good to see her finally being utilized. Hopefully, she will continue to have matches and continue her dialogues with Bliss. Let Nikki continue to play!
Alexa Bliss’s Coffee Cup
Alexa Bliss’s coffee cup stole the show. Regardless of how you feel about Bliss and her witty comebacks, it took one action to make fans engage. She was told by Lynch that she only had to stand there for their six-woman tag team match. In response, Bliss grabbed her coffee cup, walked down to ringside, and sipped her coffee. It was a mood that everyone needed after the lack of representation from the women’s roster this week.
